Rules and Regulations
All rules are subject to change and new rules may always be implemented by staff members
- No use of mood-altering chemicals.
Don’t bring any mood altering chemicals on grounds which could constitute a relapse opportunity. Mandates immediate discharge! - No threats of violence or fighting of any kind.
- No gambling, stealing or dishonesty.
- No sexual activity between residents. Mandates Immediate Staff Discharge!
- Limit phone calls to ten minutes.
- Sign out when you leave the grounds, include the time you are leaving and the estimated return time. Sign back in when you return.
- No foul language.
- Address staff members peers and guests with respect. Clients are not allowed in anyone’s apartment but their own. Confront residents not conforming to the schedule or rules. Notify staff or the peer council of all rules and schedule violations.
- Be present and punctual for all scheduled activities. You are expected to be honest with yourself. your peers. and the staff.
- Your room should be clean at all times. You must obey all laws of the outside community. Be responsible for yourself and to your peers
- It is policy of New Beginnings that no smoking or use of any tobacco products be allowed by staff members or clients inside of any of NB buildings. Clients and staff may smoke or chew outside of buildings except where No Smoking signs are posted. Cigarette butts must be put in the cans provided. Violation – Flagrant write up. NO clove cigarettes allowed.
If you are between the ages of 13 and 17, you fall into a special category. The following is in addition to the general rules and regulations.
- You are to write your parent/guardian at least a 1 page letter weekly, to be turned in with your requests and One on One Sheets Thursday by noon.
- If you have an automobile, you are to turn in the keys to the office.
- You are restricted to the grounds, leaving only to attend AA, with adult escort and staff permission.
- Attend all group therapy sessions.
- No telephone use, unless authorized by your counselor.
As you develop trust with the staff, you may gain additional privileges by asking for them, in writing. Requests must be put in the request box.
Dress Code
You are expected to be properly dressed at all times.
The following attire is inappropriate for wear at New Beginnings.
- Mini skirts or see-through tops.
- Short shorts.
- Alcohol or drug imprinted clothing.
- Halter or tube tops.
- Sleeveless or “muscle shirts”.
- Hats and sunglasses are not to be worn in group.
- No body piercing other than earrings.
- Fish net stockings.

Jeans with a lot of holes.
Policy on Hair Length For Male and Female Clients: FOR THERAPEUTIC REASONS:
- Hair length will be deemed appropriate or inappropriate upon admit by staff.
- No coloring hair. Especially NO NEON COLORING

If you are unsure about any rule and regulations. ask a staff member before you act.
Concerning Damages:

You break it, You bought it!!

Money will be deducted from allowances and/or deposit fund to pay for damages.

Your room will be inspected daily for damages.

The physical environment of New Beginnings will also be inspected daily for damages.
