Phase 0
One Week

Requirements to Phase Up

a.  Drug History
b.  Chapter One AA Big Book
c.  Powerless, Unmanageability, and Consequences.  (Seven examples of each)
d.  Defenses Paper

After completion of the above assignments, you are eligible to Phase up to Phase1.  You must request in writing to staff permission to phase up.


Phase 1

Requirements to Phase up

a.  Surrender Paper
b.  Denial paper
c.  Stinking Thinking
d.  Step One
e.  Chapters Two and Three AA Big Book

After completion of the above assignments, you are eligible to Phase up to Phase 2.  You must request in writing to staff permission to Phase Up.  Request must be handed in to your counselor before 5:00 PM on Thursdays.


Phase 2

Requirements to Phase up

a.  Grandiosity paper
b.  Acceptance Paper
c.  King Baby Paper
d.  Step Two
e.  Chapters 3, 4, and 5 AA Big Book

After completion of the above assignments, you are eligible to Phase up to Phase 3.  You must request in writing to staff permission to Phase up and you must go through the process of completing the written test, receive community approval, and final staff approval.


Phase 3

EXPECTATIONS:

Phase 3 clients are expected to be role models in our community.  It is a privilege to be in Phase 3 and you will be held accountable to be responsible to your peers and for yourself.  This phase is about starting to heal relationships and development of Identity.

a.  What is Spirituality? Paper
b.  Perfectionism Paper
c.  Chapters 5, 6, and 7 AA Big Book
d.  The Scroll
e.  Must have a temporary sponsor
f.  Step 3

After completion of the above assignments, you are eligible to Phase up to Phase 4.  You must request in writing to staff permission to phase up and you must go through the process of completing the written test, receive community approval, and final staff approval.


Phase 4

EXPECTATIONS:

Phase 4 clients are the leaders of our community.  This is the phase out part of your treatment process.  Expectations from staff are very high in terms of your readiness to continue your journey in recovery away from New Beginnings.

b.  Honesty paper
c.  Forgiveness Paper
d.  Toward Spirituality Paper
e.  Chapters 8, 9, 10, and 11 of AA Big Book

After completing these assignments you must complete a written test, receive community approval, and final staff approval in order to complete your treatment at New Beginnings.
