New Beginnings Residential
Treatment Center
Drug/Alcohol Therapy
New Beginnings
New Beginnings is a dual diagnosis facility offering
family-oriented intermediate care to individuals aged 13 to 20 recovering from
addictions
and similar problematic lifestyles. Here at New Beginnings, people are challenged
while being supported in
integrating the skills necessary for recovery. The
therapeutic regime has the capability to respond to the needs of adults, adolescents, men
& women, who are in recovery from addiction. The services are
interdisciplinary; designed to meet the individual needs of the person.
ABOUT THE CENTER
The facility is on a beautiful twenty-one acre site in Opelousas, Louisiana; composed of a manager's residence, five apartments
& multipurpose meeting facilities. With semiprivate accommodations, each apartment houses eight clients.
All units overlook the courtyard with a natural amphitheater.
THE GOAL AT NEW
BEGINNINGS
The goal of the facility is to support the
recovery of individuals while assisting in their quest for a full, meaningful life. Relying
heavily on the time-tested Twelve Step philosophy, we encourage personal awareness,
healing of the past, spiritual growth, the risk of loving & creative relationships
with others.
THE COMMUNITY
Perhaps most healing for our clients
is the community of the Center itself. Here men, women, adolescents &
adults, share experience, strength & hope with one another. All grow in
awareness, communication & a greater appreciation for
family while developing the skills to cope with their drug; drug addictions.
RECREATION AT NEW BEGINNINGS
Clients receive a membership at a
local spa where they can enjoy
-
Two Swimming Pools
-
A Weight Room
-
Aerobics
-
Racquetball
-
& More. . . !
We also have community-planned
weekend activities & trips. If clients don't play Volleyball & Ping Pong
when they arrive, don't worry, they will be experts by the time they leave. We
place great emphasis on having fun. In fact, we insist on it! There is no point
in living a life in recovery if it isn't enjoyable. Many of the patients here
didn't know how to have fun with out their dependencies to play with. Part of
recovery is helping them to find other activities that are even more fun than
being anchored to their problems.
